How Banana Pudding Became ScoopAble’s Signature Flavor

Ice cream shops around the world are known for their signature flavors, so when we opened ScoopAble, we knew we had to get this part right. No pressure, right?

Before opening our doors, we narrowed the field from more than 200 flavor possibilities down to just 16 flavors for our opening lineup. It wasn't an easy task, but we wanted a mix that offered something for everyone.

Rather than launching with a predetermined signature flavor, we started with a collection of customer favorites. We included popular flavors that are staples in our region (if you can find it in every grocery store freezer, it's probably popular for a reason), the classics that every ice cream shop needs—vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry—and a few unique flavors that would help us stand out.

One of those unique flavors was Banana Pudding.

From the beginning, customers were curious.

"That's different."

"That looks good."

"You don't see that everywhere."

"Can I try it?"

Those comments became part of our daily conversations as customers approached the dipping cabinet. Then they took their first bite.

"Wow! That's really good."

"It tastes just like banana pudding."

"How do you do that?"

"It tastes better than any banana pudding ice cream I've ever had."

"It reminds me of my grandma's banana pudding."

That's when we knew we had something special.

Before long, customers weren't just trying Banana Pudding—they were coming back for it. We started hearing things like:

"Our friend told us we had to try the Banana Pudding."

"You still have Banana Pudding, right?"

Meanwhile, we were working hard just to keep it in stock.

In the end, our customers made the decision for us. Banana Pudding earned its place as ScoopAble's signature flavor.

We love everything about it. It's unique without being too adventurous. It's fun, nostalgic, and incredibly delicious. But our favorite part isn't the flavor itself—it's the memories it brings back. Time and time again, someone takes a bite and shares a story about a grandmother, a family gathering, or a favorite childhood dessert.

Creating ice cream that makes people smile is what we do. Creating ice cream that brings back cherished memories? That doesn't get any better than that.
