At ScoopAble, volunteering is about more than scooping ice cream—it’s about spreading joy, building community, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome.

Our volunteers play a big role in helping us host events, support inclusive programs, assist behind the scenes, and bring special moments to life for families in our community. Whether you’re helping make ice cream, providing peer support for our employees, or lending a hand during a busy event, your time makes a real impact.

We believe small acts—like a smile, a scoop, or a few hours of help—can make a big difference. If you’re passionate about community, kindness, and a little bit of ice cream magic, we’d love to have you be part of the ScoopAble family.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Making ice cream and premade deserts

    • 2-hour shifts recommended, usually 10am – 12pm 

    • Weekly or bi-weekly regular commitment schedule (ex. Every Monday or every other Saturday) 

    • Must go through training and signed off by Amy 

    • Requires lifting and standing  

    • Anticipate 2-4 hours per week 

    • Experience strongly preferred 

    • Can lead to paid position offer 

  • Just like our employees, you will experience and gain employment skills from working at the shop

    • Seasonal and special events 

    • 2-hour shifts 

    • Has same requirements and training as regular Scoopers 

    • Will not be eligible for tips or compensation (except for a free treat during the shift) 

  • Provide extra support for the employees

    • Will either fill a back-up support position or will be a 1:1 assigned to an employee for the shift. 

    • Has same responsibilities and training as Scoopers 

    • May assist the Team Lead, as needed 

  • Marketing is huge! Here are a few areas we can use the most help:

    • Assist with running social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok 

    • Assist with updating Google, Yelp, and Website

    • Assists with designing marketing materials

    • Photographer & Videographer 

  • Schedules and plans private and public events, and field trips

    • Plan, run, schedule events and activities under the guidance of Amy 

    • Be the person of contact for events 

  • Transports ice cream for wholesale or other special occasions 

    • A legal driver with a reliable vehicle 

    • Delivers ice cream 

    • Delivers marketing materials, as needed 

    • Various cleaning & organization projects 

    • Various maintenance projects

    • Decorating and signage around storefront 

    • Will require standing, lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders 

    • Outreach assistance: represent ScoopAble in various outreach activities 

    • POS maintenance: update pricing, photos, pickup/delivery, flavors and options 

    • Window painting: update windows seasonally 

    • Seasonal prep: Fall help make pies, winter Christmas box set, holiday decorating, etc. 

    • One –time assist with special events and activities  

    • Mascot – Be “Scoop” for events and marketing initiatives
